When the topic of euthanasia or assisted suicide is spoke about usually it is only whispered, people don’t like to speak about death but are very out spoken when it comes to enjoying your life and being free. There are many reasons why people in society believe that it is morally wrong but who are we to tell a person that is suffering and can take it no more they aren’t allowed to end their own life even though that’s what that person wants? Euthanasia and Assisted Suicide should be made legal in the United States because while it is morally wrong in some people’s eyes, it can help end peoples pain when they decide to do so because people have the right die, it has already been legalized in another states, but most importantly is not our decision as a society to decide that for anyone but ourselves. Though there are many types of euthanasia like in active euthanasia a person directly and deliberately causes the patient s death. In passive euthanasia they don t directly take the patient s life, they just allow them to die. This is a morally unsatisfactory distinction, since even though a person doesn t actively kill the patient, they are aware that the result of their inaction will be the death of the patient. Active euthanasia is when death is brought about by an act like when a person is killed by being given an overdose of pain-killers.
